UK electronic components distribution industry is in good condition

SemiMediaEdit
October 17, 2018

Authorized distributors in the UK reported strong sales growth in August 18, reflecting the overall good performance of the European electronic component distribution industry.

In the combined results of August 2018, distributors have maintained strong revenue growth over the past few months. Compared with the same month of 2017, the overall booking volume increased by 12%, while the total monthly turnover increased by 4% compared with the previous month and increased by 12% compared with the same period last year.

Due to weak domestic demand and export demand in the UK, UK manufacturing output has stabilized, but the increase in supplier lead times and raw material supply remains a key issue, and the rise in prices of electronic components has also led to many uncertainties. As for the trade war between China and the United States, it is difficult to say how much negative impact on the UK domestic distribution industry and electronics manufacturing industry, but it will certainly not have a positive impact.
