ROHM launches 500mA LDO regulators aimed at compact power designs

January 27, 2026 /SemiMedia/ — ROHM said it has launched a new series of low-dropout (LDO) regulators with a maximum output current of 500mA, targeting applications that require stable power delivery in compact designs.

The BD9xxN5 series is designed for 12V and 24V primary power systems used in automotive electronics, industrial equipment and communication infrastructure. As electronic systems continue to increase in density, power management ICs are required to operate reliably with smaller external components.

ROHM said the new series builds on its existing Nano Cap control technology, allowing stable operation even when output capacitor values are kept low. This is intended to give system designers more flexibility in board layout and component selection.

The company previously introduced the BD9xxN1 series in 2022 with a 150mA output current. By increasing output capability to 500mA, the new devices are aimed at a wider range of higher-load applications while maintaining similar stability characteristics.
