AMD announces acquisition of Mipsology

August 29, 2023 /SemiMedia/ -- AMD announced the acquisition of artificial intelligence software company Mipsology on August 24.

Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Palaiseau, France, Mipsology is a long-term partner of AMD and has been developing AI reasoning and optimization solutions and tools for AMD.

AMD said Mipsology is a leader in AI software, and Mipsology's skilled software team will join the AMD AI Group to help further accelerate customer engagement and expand AI software development capabilities. Specifically, the team will help develop AMD's complete AI software stack, expanding its open ecosystem of software tools, libraries and models, paving the way for simplified deployment of AI models running on AMD hardware.

In terms of AI layout, AMD said that AI is the company's primary strategic focus and an important driving force for the increase in silicon demand in the next decade. AMD will continue to enhance its software capabilities with the addition of the Mipsology team.
