July 20, 2023 /SemiMedia/ -- Stellantis announced that it has signed contracts with several semiconductor manufacturers to purchase semiconductor devices worth more than 10 billion euros by 2030.

For its STLA platform, Stellantis is already working with strategic partners in the semiconductor industry such as Infineon, NXP Semiconductors, onsemi and Qualcomm to supply and purchase semiconductors with a value exceeding EUR 10 billion by 2030.

"As demand for semiconductors in the automotive industry accelerates, Stellantis is implementing a multifaceted strategy to manage and secure long-term supply of critical microchips. The strategy was developed by a cross-functional team through a rigorous assessment of customer needs for advanced technology capabilities and focused on achieving the goals set out in the Stellantis Dare Forward 2030 plan," Stellantis said.

“An effective semiconductor strategy requires a deep understanding of semiconductors and the industry. We have hundreds of distinct semiconductors in our cars. We have built a comprehensive ecosystem to mitigate the risk that one missing chip can stop our lines,” said Maxime Picat, chief procurement and supply chain officer at Stellantis.
