Dec. 20, 2022 /SemiMedia/ -- According to industry insider, DRAM chip demand is expected to rebound in the second quarter of 2023, while NAND demand may not recover in the second half of 2023.

DRAM prices have halved since 2022, and the decline is expected to slow in the coming months, the industry source said. As more and more chipmakers cut production, it is expected that the supply-demand balance in the DRAM market will be restored in the first quarter of 2023, and the rebound in DRAM prices will be earlier than that in NAND prices.

According to earlier reports, overall DRAM demand has been sluggish this year, with weak economic conditions and high inflation slowing global demand for PCs, mainstream smartphones and other consumer electronics. Therefore, DRAM demand has continued to decline, and the global DRAM market is expected to decline by 18% in 2022.
