Marvell issues price increase notice

December 16, 2022

Dec. 16, 2022 /SemiMedia/ -- According to the supply chain, Marvell Technology, Inc. recently issued a price increase notice to its customers, saying that it would start to increase the price of products on January 1, 2023.

Marvell said in the notice that although the supply environment continued to develop, they began to see the easing of supply constraints, which enabled Marvell to gradually reduce order backlogs and reduce the lead times of many products.

Marvell further stated that it has actively implemented a number of measures to mitigate the negative impact of the unprecedented semiconductor supply and demand imbalance and has paid premium fees to secure products and accelerate delivery. In addition, Marvell signed multi-year supply agreements and set aside a strategic supply buffer.

Although supply chain dynamics remain challenging and unpredictable, Marvell has seen some improvement. With these in mind, effective from December 1, 2022, Marvell will shorten the lead time of most products to 26 weeks, while the 16 week lead time of Fibre Channel HBAs will not change.

Marvell said that he would increase the product cost by 10% from January 1, 2023 due to the increased cost and additional fees charged by suppliers.
