Onsemi Shenzhen is said to have sold two years capacity

According to supply chain sources, onsemi's Shenzhen factory has stopped accepting IGBT orders because its 2022-2023 capacity has been sold out.

Automotive-grade power semiconductors and MCUs have been in short supply since 2021, and so far in 2022, the situation has not improved.

The source notes that the impact of the IGBT shortage on the automotive industry will become more severe in the second half of 2022, and the impact is expected to be more severe than the MCU shortage. Additionally, most semiconductor companies have been selectively taking orders since late 2021.

The source pointed out that the current orders of onsemi's Shenzhen factory are double the production capacity, but it is not ruled out that some orders are placed due to shortage panic.
