According to businesskorea's report, Samsung Electronics' recent foundry products have seen defective products.

These products are caused by the use of contaminated equipment on Samsung's 8-inch wafer line at the Giheung plant in South Korea. A Samsung executive admitted the problem with defective products, but claimed that the problem had been corrected and the loss was estimated at several billion won.

However, some experts said that the loss may far exceed Samsung's expectations. According to industry insiders, Samsung has not calculated the exact amount of the loss.

Samsung is investing heavily in the foundry industry. Its goal is to occupy the world's number one position in the system semiconductor industry by 2030. Regardless of the final loss, Samsung's reputation will be more or less hit.
