According to reports, on September 1, NXP Semiconductors and China's edge artificial intelligence chip design company Horizon Robotics formally signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Shanghai, China.

According to the agreement, NXP and Horizon will conduct joint R&D and in-depth cooperation in automotive intelligence based on their respective technological advantages. In addition, the two parties will jointly develop pre-integrated, mass-production-level solutions for ADAS and high-level autonomous driving.

According to public information, Journey 3, a high-efficiency automotive smart chip launched by Horizon in 2020, has already achieved pre-installation mass production in 2021. According to public information, Journey 3, a high-efficiency automotive smart chip launched by Horizon in 2020, has already achieved pre-installation mass production in 2021. And its newly released third-generation product, Journey 5, has a single chip AI computing power of 128TOPS, supports 16-channel camera perception calculation, and supports the needs of multi-sensor fusion, prediction and planning control required by vehicle intelligence.

The cooperation between the two parties includes: based on the Horizon Journey 3 vehicle-mounted AI chip and NXP’s S32G series of high-performance control chips, the two parties jointly develop an integrated solution for driving and parking, and Navigate on Autopilot (NOA) solution; based on Horizon's Journey 5 chip and NXP S32G series of high-performance control chips, jointly create a full-scenario vehicle intelligent solution.

“The transformation of smart cars is reshaping the industry and creating more ways of cooperation to bring more value to customers through collaborative innovation. NXP is the world’s leading supplier of automotive chips, with deep technology accumulation and industry insights, and Horizon is a leading AI chip company in China.
