Apple is increasing its hardware research and development efforts

According to media reports earlier, Apple has a program codenamed Kalamata, which is currently in the early stages of development. According to the plan, Apple will replace Intel chips with its own chips on the MacBook from 2020. Apple has a strategy to make the devices Mac, iPhone and iPad work more seamlessly, and Kalamata is part of this strategy.

In addition, some insiders revealed that Apple is designing a new chip internally for the next-generation communication technology 5G network, especially for millimeter-band networks. It will have wider bandwidth than the current LTE network that the iPhone uses for networking. This also means that Apple is planning to design its own 5G communication module, and may not purchase off-the-shelf components from Qualcomm or Intel in the future.

According to some of Apple's recent recruitment information, medias found that Apple is increasing its hardware research and development efforts. For example, a team at Apple is developing a custom processor to better understand the user health data collected by the sensors; recruiting sensor ASIC architects and electrical engineers to help develop future ASCI's new sensors and sensing systems.

CNBC has reported that Apple's recent recruitment information suggests that it has the ability to launch custom chips based on demand, which shows Apple's vertical integration level over other technology companies.
