Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. announced last week that it will spin off the Kanazawa Murata Manufacturing Sendai Plant and establish a new group company with the name of Sendai Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. on July 1, 2021.

Murata stated that since the establishment of the Kanazawa Murata Manufacturing Sendai Plant in July 2008, it has played an integral part in Murata’s high-frequency electronic components and SAW component operations supporting the smartphone market, and this unit continues to expand.

By establishing this new company, Murata's goal is to strengthen the high-frequency electronic component business and create a company with deep ties to the local community as a production subsidiary of the Murata Manufacturing Group.
