Intel gets approval to supply Huawei

SemiMediaEdit
September 23, 2020

According to reports, sources from the supply chain revealed that Intel is still cooperating with Huawei on the Huawei notebook project, which means that Intel has obtained approval to continue supplying Huawei.

In response to these reports about Intel, Huawei said that Intel’s supply approval was actually obtained at the end of last year, but the license is not affected by the two new bans this year, so the cooperation with Intel has not been affected.

Up to now, the two major computer chip manufacturers have been confirmed to continue to supply chips to Huawei, which means that Huawei’s computer business will not be greatly affected by the ban. However, Huawei’s main business is smartphones, which currently account for more than half of Huawei’s revenue, and so far, no mobile phone chip manufacturer has obtained a supply license.
