According to sources quoted by Invest Chosun in the M&A sector, Samsung Electronics is currently considering the acquisition of NXP.

According to industry insiders, Sohn Young-kwon, president of Samsung's strategic planning department, met with NXP's CEO Rick Cleemer earlier this year. The industry believes the meeting was for the acquisition.

Considering NXP's market capitalization, management premium and takeover offer, the value of this possible deal will be approximately $44.4 billion.

As of now, Samsung and NXP have not commented on the news.
