According to industry insiders, the mergers and acquisitions between Infineon and STMicroelectronics have made significant progress. The insiders revealed that the merger may be officially announced to the public in the near future.

According to the August report, Infineon had an early negotiation with ST last year. If the acquisition is successful, then Infineon will become a true world-class semiconductor giant, comparable to Qualcomm and Intel.

However, as far as the current international situation of semiconductors is concerned, it may take a long time for this merger to be successful.
