December 14, 2017

NB-IoT has been in the market for years, the typical growth in 2017 are the rapid development of home and factory automation, sharing bicycle. A well-known example for home automation is Xiaomi's closed-loop ecological chain which covers lots of electronic devices for smart home, factory automation we can see from FOXCONN's automation solution, thousands of sensors been placed in factory for realtime monitoring, it is a rudiment of factory automation now but they are planning to go further with Microchip, their automation solution provider. The third example for sharing bicycle is Mobike, ofo...etc which made a great contribution to the NB-IoT development. In 2017, totally 16,000,000 bicycles been put in the streets, all the bicycles were installed with IoT device, the huge demands of these devices moved forward the development of IoT chipset and its peripheral unit design.

According to estimation, the total demands for IoT module from China Mobile will be 40 millions, it just for China Mobile, one of the mobile internet service provider, the total demands will be huge and unpredictable at current stage, in this case, does the IoT related products will face the same situation which happened to MLCC couple months ago?
