Mar. 13, 2023 /SemiMedia/ -- According to reports, the global semiconductor market sales are expected to decline by about 5% in 2023, and the consumer electronics, computer and communication industries, which account for a large share of semiconductors, will all decline.

The report pointed out that the market demand for semiconductors will pick up only when the inventories of retailers, consumer electronics companies, semiconductor design and production are all digested.

The report also mentioned that China is the world's electronic equipment production base, the largest smartphone and the second largest consumer market for computers. The Chinese market may drive the recovery of the semiconductor industry, but the current growth in demand for semiconductors in China is still not enough to increase the overall shipments in 2023.

As a result, the report pointed out that the Asia-Pacific region will be in the most unfavorable situation because it accounts for 75% of the world's semiconductor manufacturing capacity.
