“There was a field investigation on May 31. We are currently assisting the investigation,” said the relevant person in charge of the Samsung Semiconductor China in an interview. The responsible person also stated that “We are under an inquiry now.”

According to the report of SemiMedia on June 2, the Chinese anti-monopoly agency sent a number of investigation teams on May 31 to carry out "surge investigations" and on-site evidence collections for Samsung, Hynix, and Micron's offices in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen respectively. It marked that China’s anti-monopoly agencies formally launched investigations on three companies.

In this regard, the relevant person in charge of the Samsung China company confirmed the occurrence of this incident.

"Most of the anti-monopoly investigations are conducted on the basis of reports. All preliminary investigations must have preliminary evidence. At present, investigations and raid investigations have already been conducted, indicating that there has been some evidence before." A senior lawyer was interviewed Expressed.

The investigation by the Chinese anti-monopoly agency was at a crucial moment in the trade war between China and the United States. Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix were both South Korean companies, and Micron was an American company, China’s intention was very clever. At the same time, it is worth noting that if there is a price monopoly, according to China's "Anti-Monopoly Law" and "Anti-monopoly Regulations," if to consider the behavior of operators from 2016 to the present, and to impose penalties base on the sales of 2016-2017 sales, the three companies will face a fine of 80-80 billion U.S. dollars.
