Recently, ASML released its second-quarter earnings report, with revenue of 2.74 billion euros in the quarter, up 19.9% year-on-year. The proportion of revenue from the mainland China market reached 19% in the quarter, which was the same as the US market and lower than the Korean market.

ASML's second-quarter revenue of 2.74 billion euros exceeded analysts' expectations. The gross profit margin for the quarter reached 43.3%, which was lower than the previous quarter's 48.9%, but higher than the 42.9% in the same period last year. In addition, the net profit for the quarter was 584 million US dollars, an increase of 4.8% year-on-year and an increase of 8.2%.

Mainland China has taken an increasingly important position in ASML's revenue. In the first quarter, China's lithography machine sales accounted for 20%, accounting for 19% in the second quarter, the same as the US region, compared with the 35% share of the Korean region, the gap is still larger. Korean companies are still very strong in the semiconductor field, especially in terms of memory chips, Samsung and SK Hynix have more than 70% of the global memory share.

Prior to this, ASML's EUV lithography machines were mainly Samsung, TSMC, Intel and Globalfoundries, but this year China's SMIC also placed an order to order an EUV lithography machine, mainly for 7nm process research. It is expected to be delivered in early 2019.
