According to Reuters, AMD's $35 billion acquisition of Xilinx is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2022, which is delayed compared to the previous schedule.
AMD and Xilinx said in a statement that although all approvals were previously expected to be obtained by the end of 2021, the process has not yet been completed.
AMD announced the transaction in October 2020, after which the transaction faced the approval of various regulatory agencies. The two companies stated that the dialogue with regulators has been fruitful and they hope to obtain all necessary approvals.
