According to the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS), although industrial and automotive ICs have performed poorly, global semiconductor sales increased by nearly 6% in May to 35 billion U.S. dollars. It predicts that global semiconductor annual sales will grow by only 3% in 2020 and then grow by 6% in 2021.
The report shows that globally, the growth rate in May increased by about 1.5% compared with April. The monthly increase in the Americas region is close to 2%, and the annual increase is 25%; the monthly increase in mainland China is 5.8%; and the monthly decrease in Europe is 6%. Calculated based on total sales of USD 412 billion in 2019, WSTS predicts an annual increase of 3% to reach approximately USD 426 billion. For the Americas region, this means an increase of 12.8%.
However, the report also pointed out that the data provided does not show the difference in revenue of analog chips, power chips and memory chips. The report also quoted VSLI's view that, due to the impact of the epidemic on industrial and automotive demand, analog chips and power chips will continue to slump. .
