Recently, Mouser Electronics announced that it has achieved the AS6496 certification and is now an authorized electronic component distributor that meets the high standard of anti-counterfeiting of aerospace.
Mouser has passed the Counterfeit Avoidance Accreditation Program (CAAP) certification developed by the Performance Review Institute (PRI). CAAP is audited in accordance with standards developed by PRI, Electronic Component Industry Association (ECIA) and aerospace OEM representatives.
The AS6496 Aerospace Standard specifies the requirements for evasion, detection, mitigation and disposal of counterfeit products in authorized distribution supply chains. This international standard requires authorized distributors to have anti-counterfeiting policies and counterfeit electronic component control plans. AS6496 is aimed at all industries and individuals and aims to reduce the risk of counterfeit electronic components entering the supply chain.
