Qorvo recently announced that its high-efficiency 5GHz front-end module (FEM) QPF4528 is part of a new commercial 802.11ax draft carrier gateway. The new gateway integrates Qualcomm's IPSI807x family of 802.11ax chipsets to deliver up to four times the wireless network throughput and higher performance in bandwidth-intensive applications compared to previously deployed carrier gateways.

The QPF4528 FEM, part of the Qorvo 802.11ax high-performance 2.4GHz and 5GHz FEM product family, delivers increased linear power without increasing power consumption compared to previous generations of FEM, reducing multi-user, multiple-input, multi-output A challenging thermal problem in the design of Wi-Fi devices in (MU-MIMO) environments. FEM's power efficiency also enables applications to use Power over Ethernet (PoE), which is important throughout the world where output power is regulated.
