Digi-Key Electronics announced that its users will have unlimited access to Ultra Librarian's symbols, footprints and 3D STEP models from digikey.com.
Randall Restle, vice president of application engineering at Digi-Key, said that in order to provide customers with better services, in cooperation with EMA, the download restrictions for Ultra Librarian EDA and CAD models were lifted. The available models now covers more than 1.25 million parts, which means that customers can download most of the required models for their designs and therefore save a lot of time in the design cycle.
Ultra Librarian offers models in more than 20 EDA and CAD formats, covering most of the industry's most active PCB design tools, including Altium, Eagle, KiCad, OrCAD, and PADS. These models are built with the Ultra Librarian Desktop software. The software uses a complex combination of templates, PDF retrieval data, and verification algorithms to quickly retrieve all necessary essential component information. To ensure the highest level of accuracy, consistency, and compliance with IPC and other standards, the model undergoes more than 30 different validation checks, and many of these models are also verified by individual device manufacturers.
